65000 Have Used The HMRC App To Pay Tax Return

Since April 2022, almost 65,000 have used the HMRC app to pay their self assessment bill

The payments have totalled nearly £67 million since April 2022.

In December 2022, 14,170 customers paid their tax return via the app. This was the highest number of app payments in a month since the app launched in February 2022.

The deadline for tax year 2021-2022 is 31st January 2023.

HMRC are urging people to not file their return last minute, instead they are encouraging people to file their tax return in good time and pay any tax owed.

For businesses struggling with their self assessment tax return, they can speak to an accountant who can sort this for them. Accountants are experienced and can ensure your tax return is completed correctly, with maximum savings on your tax bill.

For people needing to get in touch with HMRC over the busiest period, try using the app as it is quick, free and secure.

For customers unable to pay what tax they owe in full, you may be able to set up a payment plan with HMRC which will space the cost into monthly instalments.
