Tiktok Popularity Increasing Among Smes

Small business owners are always looking at different ways to boost their sales. According to Iwoca, SMEs are increasingly looking at TikTok to do this.

Iwoca's 'top online channels for small businesses' list reveals the top channels which business owners are using to market their products or services. They found that;

  • One in ten business owners under the age of 44 now use TikTok, which has doubled since pre-pandemic levels.
  • Only 1% of SMEs over the age of 44 currently use TikTok to market their business.

The growing popularity of TikTok and other social media channels among small business owners has grown over the pandemic. There has been a 14% point increase in companies now using Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to market their business.

Iwoca spokesperson, Mark Di-Toro has commented that "There's no doubt that social media is now a fundamental marketing tool for many SMEs to increase revenue, whatever industry they operate in."

The top channels used by SMEs post-pandemic:

  1. Company website (40%)
  2. Facebook (37%)
  3. Instagram (19%)
  4. eBay (15%)
  5. Amazon (8%)
  6. Etsy / Gumtree (5%)
